The choice..As long as there has been America there have been business guys like this..but do we really want one of them to be President?
Lennox will be put down b/c he “looks like” a pitbull..even though he is a bulldog/Lab mix & has never bitten anyone. He was taken from his family home two years ago, imprisoned with little contact..this is where Dangerous Dog legislation ends up.
Katherine,
There are a lot of things to love about the Fourth of July — but my favorite? The parades!
I’ve gone to Fourth of July parades almost every year since I was born. I’ve been hot and sweaty and I’ve sat in pouring rain, but I’ve loved every single Fourth of July parade I’ve ever seen.
I love bands, marching Girl Scouts, decorated bicycles, clowns, drill teams, old cars, trained horses — every bit of it. I was always the lady decked out in red-white-and-blue and an oversized hat, sitting in a lawn chair with a big drink, waving a flag.
Thinking about it, I don’t think I’ve ever sat through a Fourth of July parade without tears. They come unexpectedly — a little boy holding his little brother’s hand as they walk with a church group. A junior high clarinetist who is determined to keep her eyes straight ahead while she counts her steps. An old man having a great time passing out candy.
Parades are a real chance for all of us to come together to celebrate the country we have built. This year I’ll be out of my chair and marching in several parades across Massachusetts, celebrating the joy of a parade in a whole new way.
Happy Fourth of July to you and your loved ones!
Thank you for being a part of this.
Elizabeth
THIS LAND IS YOUR LAND
words and music by Woody GuthrieChorus:
This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and meAs I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and meChorus
I’ve roamed and rambled and I’ve followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and meChorus
The sun comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
The fog was lifting a voice come chanting
This land was made for you and meChorus
As I was walkin’ - I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin’
But on the other side …. it didn’t say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!Chorus
In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin’ and some are wonderin’
If this land’s still made for you and me.Chorus (2x)
Homeless Polar Bear in London..We know we are on this path. We see it happening, yet we can not seem to make it stop. Talkin’ About My Generation who has the economic power to get things done.
When a man carries a gun all the time, respect he thinks he’s getting might really be fear. So I don’t carry a gun because I don’t want the people of Mayberry to fear a gun. I’d rather they respect me.” _Andy Taylor:

When Wrought Iron is Not Enuf…did the Cape Cod Bear simply choose the wrong neighborhood?
A couple weeks ago the Cape Cod bear was relocated to Central Ma, but he was a bear not to be denied and promptly set course to come right back. Unfortunately, for him he chose a path through Brookline, Ma…a conclave for the wealthy. The Boston Globe reported that the bear was spotted in a white pine tree in the backyard of Alan Leventhal, chief executive of Beacon Capital Partners, one of the largest real estate investment trusts in the United States, and on Boston University’s Board of Trustees. When Brookline police found the bear shortly before 8 a.m., about 50 feet up the tree behind a $4.9 million home on Pine Road, they attracted a crowd of gawkers and decided they would have to take the intruder down with another dart, even if it meant a long, perilous fall…in the name of “public safety”.
The bear climbed another 30 feet, was then shot by the Mass Wildlife team and fell 80 feet through tree limbs and crashing to ground. No explanation was given as to why they did not wait until he came down to a safer height, or why onlookers weren’t just asked to leave..no plan was developed to use nets or mats as is often the case in such circumstances. Rather the “experts” from Mass Wildlife decided an 80 ft fall was the best alternative. Was the Cape bear dangerous? Hmm..During all his roamings alond the South Shore, and a trip from Sandwich on Cape Cod to crowded Provincetown, this fierce creature was accused of knocking over a bee hive and nothing else. We are still in the middle of this Disney movie and I suggest the bad guys have already been identified. They carted the bear off again to Central MA..claiming he was “fine”..no ill effect at all from the fall..and Mr Leventhal was free to return to his now once again peaceful life of bear free Brookline. Let them know what you think of how they handled this..mass.wildlife@state.ma.us
